Your Voice, Your Future: Truth, Transparency, Progress for Fox Lake, Illinois.

Starting a Transit-Oriented-District Downtown

  1. Establish the Quiet Zone:  Work with Fox Lake Administration, the Federal Railroad Administration, and Metra to bring a Quiet Zone from Nippersink Blvd. to Ingleside Metra Station. The residents of Fox Lake deserve a quieter, more peaceful environment.
  2. Protect Property Values: Our Village needs a fresh start, and it begins with a bold, top-down commitment to address small things in the neighborhood through the principles of the "Broken Window" theory, we will address the small things to prevent neighborhood decline (our streets). This will help pave the way for big, meaningful change a fresh beginning. We will leave behind policies and practices that are no longer working for Fox Lake.  The time for renewal is now, and together, we’ll create a community we’re proud to call home.
  3. Economic Growth: Fox Lake is being left behind due to erratic decision making while our neighboring communities have thrived. This cannot continue. Our community deserves to be better. We need fresh energy, bold leadership, and a new vision to bring Fox Lake back to life. Our team is ready to deliver on that promise; to ignite growth, restore pride, and ensure Fox Lake takes its rightful place as a thriving hub in the region. This is our time to rise!

Cutting the RED TAPE

  1. Follow the Comprehensive Plan:  We will implement strategies outlined in the Comprehensive Plan for Fox Lake:  Mayor Schmitt has repeatedly ignored the Village Comprehensive Plan.  We plan to execute the strategies outlined in the Plan to foster economic growth in the community.
  2. Throw away outdated -one size fits all thinking:  Fox Lake is unique and was built on the waters of the Fox River. We will bring new ideas and innovative thinking to improve the environment of our existing businesses and invest in bringing new businesses to the community. Together, we can create a thriving future for Fox Lake!
  3. Professional Management:  Fox Lake deserves an administration that will implement the Village Board’s policies and vision for the community.  This starts with hiring a Village Administrator with a proven track record that is apolitical.  Decisions for the community cannot continue to be made based on who you are or who you know. We are committed to identifying a visionary manager  who will drive progress and whom we will empower to deliver unparalleled results for our residents, businesses, and community. The future of Fox Lake demands nothing less.
  4. Efficiency:  We will conduct a comprehensive review of wasteful spending and identify missed opportunities, paving the way for smart development and a stronger future for our community.

Working for our Community and its Diverse Areas

  1. Fairness in Water Billing: We will change the practice of billing water users a flat rate and move toward a more equitable billing system based on usage. The billing rates should be sufficient to pay for the water and sewer operations of the Village.  The Village should not profit by overcharging nor use the money for any other purpose than to pay for the operational costs of the water and sewer facilities.  It is time to put an end to it. When elected, we will ensure fairness and transparency in how water and sewer fees are assessed.
  2. Impact on Quality of Living: We strongly oppose the development of a new rock quarries, gravel pits, and solar farms near our subdivisions, as these projects pose significant risks to our community's health, safety, and overall quality of life. The environmental impact of a quarry and gravel pit including noise pollution, dust, and potential groundwater contamination, threatens not only the well-being of residents but also the natural beauty and ecological balance of the area. Additionally, large-scale solar farms, while beneficial in certain contexts (roofs, government buildings, Public/Private Partnership school roofs) must be carefully placed to avoid disrupting residential neighborhoods and diminishing property values. We urge local leaders and developers to prioritize sustainable growth strategies that protect our homes, preserve our natural environment, and uphold the character of our community. Responsible planning and transparent communication are essential to ensuring Fox Lake remains a safe, thriving places for all its residents.
  3. We love Fox Lake deeply, which is why it’s so disheartening to hear our community dismissed as “Fox Tucky” or “The Armpit.” These labels are not who we are today but highlight the urgent need for leadership that cares enough to create real, lasting change. Fox Lake is a town of hardworking people, rich history, and incredible potential. It’s time we rise above the negativity, embrace our communities’ strengths, and build a future we can all be proud of. Together, we can rewrite the narrative of Fox Lake. “High Tides Make all of the Boats Rise!”
